HS&E Deputy Manager

Position Type: Full time Employment Contract

General Description

Health, Safety & Environment is a structural area for Principle Power, aiming at fostering, developing and leverage a Culture of Health, Safety and Sustainable behavior towards the Environment. 

The HSE team in PPI  covers all H&S related aspects as a Company Corporate Function as well as a support of the different projects PPI is contributing to.

This encompasses new offshore projects development, engineering feasibility studies as well as construction and operation and maintenance projects.  The HSE team supports PPI and our customer meeting statutory obligations and H&S ambitions by meeting the legal and contractual requirements and by implementing good practices to achieve high standards of Corporate and Project Health and Safety management.

This role will report to the HS&E Global Lead and covers scopes such as Project Development, engineering studies, Fabrication sites; Pre-Commissioning/ Commissioning activities and offshore wind farm maintenance with a focus on the operational HSE, namely project work in Europe, requiring regular business trips. 

The successful candidate needs to be able to work in a rapidly evolving industry with strategic and commercial changes and continue to build upon the foundations already established through the last years of development.

We are seeking a skilled and driven professional capable of delivering high-quality work in a flexible and independent manner, supporting teams across the organization, and helping our clients and partners realize successful floating wind projects around the world.


Main Accountabilities

  • Implementation of health & safety governing model and management system in the project development works;
  • Development, communication and follow up of project specific measures for the implementation of health & safety strategies, plans, regulations and standards;
  • Monitor and report on relevant issues to health & safety;
  • Support projects in achieving compliance with relevant health & safety and construction design legislation and HSE ambition of zero incidents;
  • Implement Lessons Learned, Safety alerts and other H&S code of practices within your area of control;
  • Support the feedback loop between project in execution and front-end design and planning

Required Education:

Degrees in health and safety, risk management, engineering, construction, environmental health, science or engineering is preferred. Postgraduate qualification in HS&E for backgrounds diverse from Health and Safety is mandatory


Required Professional Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in industrial environments, namely in Renewables, namely Wind Off Shore and/or O&G;


Required Knowledge:

Full and detailed understanding of applicable H&S related construction and design legislation and international and national standards for Offshore Wind
Experience with:

  • H&S management and start-up of projects in an international environment;
  • Managing contractors as client and/or principal contractor
  • Safety and design
  • Safety management systems and H&S auditing;
  • Client / Contractor relationships & management;
  •  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
